Zach Sloan graduated from the University of Georgia in the Fall of 2021 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Zach joined the UGA Aviation Club his sophomore year when he transferred to UGA from Kennesaw State University. He didn’t have any background in aviation prior to joining the club, but stayed actively involved each semester and went on to serve as the club’s Vice-President of Recruitment.

During his time at UGA, he worked as a line service technician at the Athens-Ben Epps Airport and earned his Private Pilot, Remote Pilot, and Advanced Ground Instructor certificates while in school.

He currently works as an aircraft maintenance engineer at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Georgia where he primarily works on the C-130 and the C-5. He’s also a member of the LGE Flying Club based at the Cobb County Airport and is currently working on his instrument rating. His ultimate goal is to one day become a test pilot for Lockheed Martin.
