2022 Scholarship Fly-In

We had a wonderful time at our second-annual Spring Fly-In at KAHN on April 30! We had beautiful weather and were grateful for all the pilots and aviation enthusiasts who came from all across the southeast. Thanks to our wonderful donors, we were able to give out TWO Student Pilot Scholarships by raising over $8,000!

Along with live music, corn hole, grilled hot dogs, and an exclusive raffle, we were able to offer two well deserving club members flight scholarships for a total of $7,500! Thank you to all who were involved in this big event especially our donors and volunteers. We’re looking forward to our 2023 Fly-In!

We are proud to announce that Ryan completed his first solo with FlyT Aviation out of Athens Ben Epps early in the Fall 2022 semester. Great work, Ryan! In March 2023, he was also recently elected to the upcoming 2023-2024 UGA Aviation Club Executive Board as the Vice President of Flight Coordination. Over the summer, Ryan has the awesome opportunity to work in Savannah with Gulfstream Aerospace.

We were thrilled to hear that Susannah completed her first solo with DragonFly Aviation out of the Winder Airport (KWDR) earlier this year! She has been working on her cross country time and hopes to take her checkride later this year. Congratulations Susannah! Susannah has been a co-Vice President for the UGA Aviation Club for the 2022-2023 year and will be continuing on for the 2023-2024 school year. This past semester, Susannah has been working an internship at Delta Airlines which she will be continuing over the summer!
