The UGA Aviation Club’s main mission is to get as many students in the air as possible. At our annual Spring Fly-Ins, we have the honor of awarding one of our club members a Student Pilot Scholarship to get their wings!
On Saturday, April 20th, 2024, the UGA Aviation Club held its Fourth-Annual Spring Fly-In and Student Pilot Scholarship! The Fly-In was a huge success complete with pilots from across the southeast, lots of food, live music, and fun for all!
Each year, the Student Pilot Scholarship applications are available to any active, dues-paying club member. We had a wonderful panel of UGA Aviation Club alumni who are all past presidents reviewing applications. We had a record number of amazing applications come in this year. Every student who applied was highly qualified and a hard-working member of the UGA Aviation Club Community.
Our 2024 Scholarship winner is Conner Brown! Thanks to the UGA Parents Leadership Council (PLC), our alumni, faculty advisor (Dr. John Knox), parents, and aviation enthusiasts alike, we were able to reach our $5,000 goal! Conner successfully completed his Private Pilot training in January of 2025 and is now a Certified Private Pilot because of everyone’s generosity and donations!
He plans to continue flying and pursuing more ratings to continue to build his aviation career! Go Dawgs and see you next year!
